Today Jill got me right to work making a quiz on women's history for the Mother's Day Tea. It actually took me a while because I had to adequately cover the various areas and eras of women's history and had to reference women of local and national importance. It required a lot of research, which led me to some interesting discoveries. I ended up reading the stories of all different types of women and some of them were awesome and some of them were pretty morbid (i.e. the lady whose home was attacked by Native Americans who killed and scalped her 3-year-old and 5-year-old right before her eyes… #traumatized). After that I was doing some more research for Jill for women for her to talk about at the Mother's Day Tea and at the Annual Meeting. I was researching Dorothea Backenstoe Leh who was a pilot from Allentown that was friends with Amelia Earhart. It’s interesting to find local connections to internationally famous people!
